Paying at a skin clinic in Seoul
Know what to ask before payment, from accepted cards and the final clinic total to currency conversion and keeping your receipts.

In this article
Before your Seoul skin clinic appointment, check how the clinic accepts payment and what the final total includes. This is especially useful if you plan to use a card issued outside Korea or have already paid a deposit.
GREY’s booking service is free, and treatment payments go directly to the clinic. Payment arrangements should be confirmed with the branch you are visiting. Do not assume that one clinic’s accepted cards or payment process applies to another.
Ask about your intended payment method
Tell the clinic which card network or payment method you would like to use, without sending card numbers or security codes in a message. Ask whether the clinic accepts that method and whether any conditions apply. Check international-use settings and any overseas transaction fees with your own card issuer.
If someone else is paying, tell the clinic in advance and ask what it requires. If a payment is declined, ask your issuer and the clinic how to resolve it; do not send card photographs, passwords or one-time verification codes to an unverified contact.
Review the total after the consultation
- The treatments or consultation you have agreed to
- The exact quantity, treatment area or session count where relevant
- Whether applicable taxes and any agreed extras are included
- Any deposit already received and how it is applied
- The remaining amount and currency you are being asked to pay
Compare the bill with the plan you accepted. If the medical consultation changes the proposed treatment, ask for the revised total before approving payment. An old promotion or an initial estimate may not describe the final plan.
For the difference between GREY’s service and clinic charges, see GREY’s booking FAQ. Ask about deposit and cancellation terms before making any advance payment.
Read the currency choice on the terminal
If a terminal offers payment in your home currency, ask to see the exchange rate and any conversion fee or markup before choosing. This service is called dynamic currency conversion. It is a separate question from the clinic’s quoted price in Korean won.
Visa’s guide to dynamic currency conversion explains that a merchant offering the service should show the currencies, exchange rate and additional fees and let the cardholder choose. Check your own issuer’s charges as well. This article does not guarantee a particular exchange rate or card acceptance.
Keep the bill and the payment receipt
Before leaving, ask for the itemised clinic bill and payment receipt. Check the amount, currency and clinic details while staff can answer questions. If you paid a deposit separately, keep that record with the final receipt.
If you need documents for an insurer or another organisation, ask that organisation what it requires and check with the clinic before the appointment. A receipt does not by itself establish insurance coverage or reimbursement eligibility.
Keep records somewhere private. If you later ask for help with a payment question, share only the information needed and avoid sending full card details.
Frequently asked questions
Do I pay GREY for my treatment
No. You pay the clinic directly. GREY does not charge a patient booking fee.
Will my overseas card be accepted
Ask the specific clinic about your intended card network or payment method, then check any international-use conditions with your issuer.
Does an initial price include every charge
Confirm the itemised total with the clinic. Ask about applicable taxes, agreed extras and any consultation charge before paying.
Can I get a receipt in English
Ask the clinic in advance what documents and languages it can provide. Do not assume every receipt or medical document is available in English.
Confirm payment details before your visit
When you enquire through GREY’s partner clinics, ask about your intended payment method and any deposit terms. At the clinic, review the agreed treatment plan and total before paying.
General payment and visit-planning information only. Payment acceptance and clinic charges must be confirmed with the clinic; card and currency-conversion charges should be checked with your provider. Medical decisions remain with the treating clinic.
