Why consider this clinic
Established in 2019, Gangnam Smile Eye Clinic brings together vision correction, presbyopia and cataract care, and a dry-eye center. GREY helps you check appointment availability and prepare for a visit before you travel.

You do not need to choose a procedure before contacting us. Start with your concern and preferred visit dates.
Ophthalmology4F: presbyopia and cataract examination and surgery centers. 6F: vision-correction examination and outpatient care. GREY confirms where to check in.
Ask the clinic about examination preparation, contact-lens instructions, the time to allow and any follow-up visits. Requirements depend on the examination and treatment.
GREY checks the available appointment, examination fees and proposed treatment costs with the clinic. No fixed surgical price or recovery schedule is assumed.
GANGNAM SMILE EYE CLINIC
Laser correction, implantable lenses and cataract surgery work in different ways. Open a guide to understand the procedure before comparing packages.

Laser vision-correction consultation, including the clinic’s premium LASEK and two-day LASEK options.
A thin corneal flap is lifted, an excimer laser reshapes tissue underneath, and the flap is replaced. It generally has a different early healing experience from surface treatment.
The surface layer is managed before laser reshaping, without a LASIK-style stromal flap. A protective contact lens may be used while the surface heals.
Checks include prescription stability, corneal shape and thickness, tear film and eye health. Contact lenses can affect measurements; obtain the clinic’s lens-specific stopping instructions before examination. Numbing drops are used for treatment.
Surface treatment commonly needs more early healing time and can cause discomfort and light sensitivity. Use prescribed drops and attend early checks; do not rub the eyes. Vision may fluctuate while healing, so a “one-day” visit does not mean completed recovery.
Dry eye, glare, halos, under/over-correction, infection and corneal healing problems can occur. Glasses may still be needed. Thin or irregular corneas and other eye conditions may change eligibility.
The clinic’s supplied entries are Co-Wave Premium LASEK and two-day LASEK packages. A LASIK enquiry requires confirmation of availability and a separate suitable plan; the LASEK price should not be read as a LASIK quote.
General patient information, not an individual treatment plan. The treating doctor confirms suitability, technique and follow-up. Recovery ranges are not a recommended length of stay or clearance to fly.
Compare Relax, Flex and Apex SMILE packages and their listed care options.
A femtosecond laser creates a thin disc of tissue inside the cornea. The surgeon removes it through a small opening to change the corneal shape, without making a LASIK-style flap.
Relax, Flex and Apex are the clinic’s package names. Listed additions such as serum care, cross-linking or IPL are separate care components, not three different diagnoses.
Examination checks refraction, corneal mapping and thickness, tear film and other eye disease. The surgeon decides whether the correction range and remaining corneal tissue are suitable. Treatment uses numbing drops.
Temporary blur, light sensitivity or a gritty feeling can occur. Vision and comfort improve at different rates. Keep the early review and prescribed drops, and wait for clearance for eye rubbing, swimming and contact sports.
Flap-free surgery still has risks, including dry eye, glare, residual prescription, inflammation or infection. It does not prevent age-related reading-glasses needs or treat cataracts.
No. The basic operation, your examination findings and the reason for each additional care component should be clear before choosing a package.
General patient information, not an individual treatment plan. The treating doctor confirms suitability, technique and follow-up. Recovery ranges are not a recommended length of stay or clearance to fly.

Explore Relax Pro, Flex Pro and Apex Pro; confirm examination results and package inclusions.
VISUMAX 800 · ZEISS equipment imageSMILE Pro uses small-incision lenticule extraction on the ZEISS VISUMAX 800 platform. It changes corneal shape; it does not replace the eye’s natural lens.
The platform offers a shorter laser treatment step and alignment assistance. Relax Pro, Flex Pro and Apex Pro additionally differ in the clinic’s listed care components.
The same suitability checks remain necessary: stable prescription, corneal measurements, tear film and eye health. Numbing, positioning, laser treatment, tissue removal and postoperative checks all form part of the visit.
A faster laser step is not the length of the whole operation or recovery. Early blur and irritation can occur. Use the prescribed drops and keep the review schedule even if vision already feels good.
Possible problems include residual prescription, glare, dry eye, inflammation and infection. Newer equipment does not guarantee eligibility, perfect vision or freedom from complications.
Do not set the return flight around the laser’s advertised speed. Confirm the first postoperative examination and an individual travel plan with the clinic before booking flights.
General patient information, not an individual treatment plan. The treating doctor confirms suitability, technique and follow-up. Recovery ranges are not a recommended length of stay or clearance to fly.

ECHO ICL and toric ICL consultation, including astigmatism correction options.
A lens is placed inside the eye while retaining the natural lens. Unlike corneal laser surgery, the intended correction comes from the implanted lens rather than removing corneal tissue.
A toric lens also corrects astigmatism and needs appropriate rotational alignment. Correct lens sizing and the space inside the eye are important.
Examination includes refraction, internal eye dimensions, corneal endothelial cells, pressure and retinal health. The exact product, power and size are selected before surgery; the clinic’s ECHO naming should be confirmed against the implant model.
Drops and early pressure/position checks are required. Plan ongoing monitoring after returning home, even when vision is comfortable. Follow the clinic’s instructions on water exposure and physical activity.
Risks include raised pressure, cataract formation, endothelial cell loss, halos, infection and lens-position problems. Repositioning or removal may need another operation; “removable” does not mean risk-free or fully reversible.
No. ICL keeps the natural lens. Cataract surgery removes a cloudy natural lens and replaces it with an artificial lens.
General patient information, not an individual treatment plan. The treating doctor confirms suitability, technique and follow-up. Recovery ranges are not a recommended length of stay or clearance to fly.

Monofocal and multifocal lens consultations. Cataract surgery prices are listed per eye.
Cataract surgery removes the cloudy natural lens and inserts an artificial intraocular lens. The aim is to address cataract-related visual impairment.
Monofocal lenses mainly target one focus. Multifocal options balance several viewing distances; toric correction addresses astigmatism. Lens choice depends on daily needs and the rest of the eye.
Examination measures the eye for lens power and checks the retina and other conditions that can limit the result. The surgeon agrees the lens and whether the eyes should be treated on different dates.
Use prescribed drops, protect the eye and attend follow-up. Vision can improve before healing is complete. Do not rub the eye; ask when driving, lifting and travelling are appropriate.
Infection, inflammation, pressure changes, retinal complications or later capsule clouding can occur. Multifocal lenses may involve halos or contrast trade-offs, and glasses may still be needed.
No. Cataract surgery prices are per eye. The listed cataract examination fee is for both eyes and is separate from surgery; the vision-correction examination waiver should not be applied to cataract surgery.
General patient information, not an individual treatment plan. The treating doctor confirms suitability, technique and follow-up. Recovery ranges are not a recommended length of stay or clearance to fly.

Eye examination and clinic-listed care programs, including IPL options after assessment.
Dry eye can relate to too little tear production, fast evaporation or both. Watery eyes can also be a symptom. Tear-film and eyelid-gland assessment guide treatment.
IPL may be considered for selected evaporative dry eye associated with eyelid-gland dysfunction. Lubricants, lid care and other treatment may still be needed; IPL is not a cure for every type of dry eye.
The clinician assesses the eye surface, eyelids, symptoms and medicines. If IPL is appropriate, skin suitability is checked and the eyes are protected during light treatment around the eyes.
Several sessions may be needed, so a short trip may cover only part of a course. Continue the prescribed home-care plan and sun protection; agree where later sessions and reassessment will take place.
Response varies. Light treatment can cause skin irritation or pigment changes, and suitability depends on skin type, medicines and local conditions. A package does not establish that IPL is appropriate for you.
No. The listed Express, Day Care and Protocol packages have different examination, oxygen-care and IPL contents. Oxygen care is a listed package component, not a guarantee of dry-eye improvement.
General patient information, not an individual treatment plan. The treating doctor confirms suitability, technique and follow-up. Recovery ranges are not a recommended length of stay or clearance to fly.

Ask about lens fitting, follow-up appointments and whether this option suits your stay.
Special rigid lenses temporarily reshape the cornea during prescribed wear to reduce daytime dependence on glasses. They do not permanently remove the prescription.
The effect requires ongoing lens wear. Initial fitting, lens-care training and repeated checks are part of treatment, rather than a single purchase during a trip.
Corneal mapping and prescription checks guide lens fitting. The clinic assesses age, eye health and the ability to handle and clean lenses reliably. Further adjustment may be necessary.
Follow the exact wear, cleaning and replacement schedule. Keep lenses away from tap water and stop wearing them and seek prompt assessment for pain, redness, light sensitivity or reduced vision.
Overnight contact-lens wear can cause corneal infection or injury. Correction can fluctuate and may regress when wear stops. Arrange continued supervision in your home country.
Only if fitting, early reviews and reliable ongoing care can be arranged. It should not be treated as a one-visit permanent vision-correction procedure.
General patient information, not an individual treatment plan. The treating doctor confirms suitability, technique and follow-up. Recovery ranges are not a recommended length of stay or clearance to fly.
After a procedure, sudden loss of vision, severe or rapidly worsening pain, breathing difficulty or heavy bleeding need urgent medical attention.
