01 / The differenceStart with your concern.
Then compare the treatment.
A softer-looking jawline, changes in skin firmness, and fine lines can lead you to the same search results. But Ultherapy and Thermage are not interchangeable treatments, and booking both is not automatically the right answer.
ULTHERAPY PRIMEFocused ultrasound,
with imaging.
Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound and real-time imaging. The clinician can assess tissue while planning and delivering treatment. Ask which areas they would treat and how the proposed shots would be distributed, rather than choosing a number in isolation.
THERMAGE FLXRadiofrequency,
with cooling.
Thermage uses radiofrequency energy with cooling. Different treatment tips serve different areas, so a face treatment and a dedicated eye treatment are not equivalent offers. Ask about the proposed tip, treatment area and pulse count.
Your clinician should assess skin condition, previous procedures and the change you want to achieve. Results and the time they take to appear vary. A combined package may be appropriate, but it needs a reason specific to you.
02 / Pain and preparationIf pain stops the planned treatment, the expected result may be reduced.
Stopping before the planned shots or treatment coverage are completed may mean the intended result is not fully achieved. Changes to energy settings can also change the treatment plan. Discuss what an adjustment would mean with the treating clinician; there is no single percentage reduction that applies to everyone.
This makes preparation important. Before the appointment, describe your past treatment experience and concerns about pain. Ask what comfort measures are available, whether they cost extra, and how to communicate discomfort during treatment.
Report severe or unexpected pain immediately. The clinician should reassess whether to continue, adjust or stop. The aim is to complete an appropriate plan safely, not to ignore warning symptoms.
03 / Tips and total costKnow what you are paying for.
Authenticity checks should match the product. For Thermage, ask about the genuine treatment tip and its single-patient-use conditions. Ultherapy transducers are described by the manufacturer as multi-patient components, so “a newly opened tip for every person” is not the same rule. Ask about genuine equipment, appropriate handling and your planned shot count.
- Device and treatment scopeExact model, tip, areas and planned shots or pulses.
- Doctor and comfort arrangementsWho will treat you, and whether pain management or aftercare costs extra.
- Price and eligibilityVAT, first-visit requirements, booking-channel conditions and the date your quote applies.
A 100-shot event price is a specific offer, not a rate to multiply into a 400- or 600-shot quote. Compare the actual package you are considering.
Redness, swelling and pain can occur; burns and nerve-related effects are among other possible risks. Discuss suitability, recovery and follow-up with your clinician. This guide is not a personal treatment recommendation.
